PMASD 2026 Meeting 1: 02.26.2026

The Philippine Medical Association of San Diego kicks off its first meeting of the year with a lecture by young Filipina Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Eileen Gajo of the Cardiovascular Institute of San Diego.

The evening was sponsored by Edwards Lifesciences, a U.S. medical technology company and a global leader in innovative heart valve and structural heart disease therapies, best known for its minimally invasive transcatheter heart valve systems that improve cardiovascular patient care. Dr. Gajo utilizes years of training in Chicago, IL and medical technology created by Edwards to save lives and improve life quality.

Cardiovascular Institute’s Melody Salgado, MSN, AGAC-NP-BC, gave a word about the cardiovascular research she leads with our population, which includes very underrepresented groups (ie. Filipinos, Mexicans, etc.) in current medical research.
